The grinders are amazing. They have a vast selection of fresh cut meats and butchers there to make special cuts for you. Good selection of premade meals as well.

Best Soppressata in the region. It's horrible for you but it sure is delicious. Also their bottled red sauce and cheese selection is unbeatable for the price.
We were on a quest for "soupys" (or soppressatas Rhode Island-style for all you non-Rhodies!). We first had these delicious cured meats from a friend who brought them back from Westerly a couple years back and have been thinking of them ever since. So we packed a lunch and made the long haul to Westerly ( a 33 minute trip for us - very faaar in RI terms) to Westerly Packing where they make them on the premises. We were also pleasantly surprised that the business is also a full-fledged grocery store, with a staffed butcher counter and specialty meats! Well, we got our bunch of soupys (hot, mild, and sweet) and are looking forward to our next soiree!
"Soupy" a Westerly, Rhode Island specialty. Westerly has taken the soppresata and made it all its own with this cured sausage. And who makes most of the soupy in Westerly? ...Well, at least largely believed to be the best...Westerly processing and packing! Sold in sweet, mild, hot, extra hot, and fresh/uncured and uncooked. Westerly Packing is so much more than soupy though! It is a fully stocked Italian Market tucked away in the back of a residential area. It's a "if you know, you know" kinda place. And I am so happy my cousin knew in order to take me shopping here! The cuts of meat are unbelievable. There is a cowboy cut of steak SOOO thick and large; am sure it could feed a family of six! Love all the imports as well as frozen section of pastas, ravioli, etc. Seriously great Italian Market, rivaling many in some nearby larger cities! If you are staying in the area, even for just a short time...do yourself a favor and get there!
